Recent accreditation systems operated by the governments of Japan based such as the JIS Law, JAS Law, Pharmaceutical Affairs Law,etc. are using the relevant
International Standards/Guides on conformity assessment as the criteria for conformity assessment bodies.
The accreditation systems operated by the private sector, such as management system accreditation system, are also using the relevant International Standards/Guides.
As these public and private accreditation bodies are operating their own accreditation systems based on the same international standards and using similar requirements, cooperation among these bodies are necessary for harmonizing and maintaining accreditation procedures and their quality of business.
Now, JAC has been launched in order to share the experiences as accreditation bodies among ourselves and, therefore, contribute to increase the all-Japan Conformity Assessment Society. |

June 9th 2010 will mark the third International Accreditation Day, a global initiative jointly established by
the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to
raise awareness of the importance of accreditation-related activities.

June 9th of 2008 was designated as
the first International Accreditation Day by IAF and ILAC at the last Joint General Assembly Meeting in 2007.
On this day, some promotional activities such as seminar will be held around the world. |
